Confirmation is offered for students in grades 6th through 8th Grade. On Wed. Feb. 15 we hosted the 6th Annual Confirmation Olympics! 

“Thank You for Setting New Record of Giving!” 

Confirmation Students particated in the Angel Tree Ministry delivery for special families in our community...  partnership with Stepping Stones of Dunn County. 

 On Wednesday, Dec. 14 the confirmation delivered the Christmas presents to Stepping Stones of Dunn County.  Katherine Dutton, Executive Director provided a tour of the new site and talked about how Stepping Stones serves people in the community.  She also thanked everyone for the Christmas gifts on behalf of each person who receives them.  Together, over 80 gifts were collected and on behalf of each person who receives the gifts: “Thank you!”

Mentor Training

6th Grade Volunteer Forms

Time: 7PM – 8PM   
Class sessions will be held at Peace Lutheran Church
6th Grade meets after Mentor Meals on the basement stage

7^th Grade will meet in the library/youth room area
8^th Grade will be downstairs in the fireside room.

 

Confirmation Ministry Outline

 Lutheran Commission on the Theology and  Practice of Confirmation has defined confirmation as “help for the baptized child… to identify more deeply with the Christian community and to participate more fully in its mission.” 

 

This is a key time in the lives of our young people.   We have an obligation to build them up in the faith and to assist families in daily faith formation.  Completion of the Confirmation ministry is not the end of their church career, however; it is the beginning of a journey that the Holy Spirit inspires.  The Holy Spirit calls us to assist these young people as they enter a new phase of relationship between themselves and God.

 

This is a three year committed ministry program at Peace Lutheran. 
Theological instruction will be with offered by Pastor Dave Whelan for the 8th Grade and Heather Kistner for the 7^th Grade students.  Deb Bell is the Guide for the 6^th Grade and will be doing independant service hours and class time once a month.  Leslie Fahl will be collecting 6th Grade service hour forms monthly. Travis Johnson is our Worship Minsitry Coordinator and Kristi Johnson in our Worship Bulletin Coordinator. 
Parents will be expected to sign-up for scheduled events and offer support for their child’s faith development.

If Menomonie Area School District cancels school due to weather, confirmation will also be canceled!  This includes mentor meals: students/parents are required to contact the mentor to let them know of the change.
